Multiculturalism A Failure?

Multiculturalism A Failure?

My whole life I've been taught that multiculturalism is a good thing. And now some of its original proponents are calling it a failure. Yikes! Could they be right? After all, their respective countries are supposed to be more progressive and socially advanced. And multiculturalism certainly doesn't seem very successful here in the United States. Can you name one minority group in the country that isn't in the middle of some social controversy? I do like this quote from the French president Nicolas Sarkozy: "We have been too concerned about the identity of the person arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him." What are your thoughts on this statement?
